This Life Writes Itself. Or, LOBSTERMEN!

I'm working on a longer post for later, but in the meantime - in case I don't say it tonight, I have a pretty awesome life. Mostly because it's funny. I'm pretty fluent in Snark, Pun, and Quip on my own... but the people who surround me are also pretty much all native speakers of every known funny language.

For example, this morning, I shared the following status update on Facebook:
This is my real life.
SETTING: The car. B is driving. D is in the passenger seat. B turns the radio on; we come in midway through a news program featuring a segment on lobster catchers in Maine.
RADIO REPORTER: As I approach the shore, I see a dozen lobstermen -
D: LOBSTER-MEN?? WHY IS THIS NOT ALL OVER ALL THE NEWS?!?
Which led to another friend/arts colleague (thanks, LBT!) creating the visual to accompany the exchange:

Which reminded me that it's quite possible the fact that stuff like this happens pretty much every day in my life is something I should celebrate more often.

And share more often. Hmmm. Maybe I should take a week off of writing, and just freakin' transcribe my real-life script...

  2. Well, on the blog (which I've been worse and worse about updating), yeah... but on the novel-and-play-writing side, I try for some originality...

    ...I said some!!!! ;-)

  3. ... or, you *claim* it is "originality" so that the not-so-innocent do not tweak to what you are doing...
